Thinking about the best places to retire
November 4th, 2008 by princess80It’s funny how one would talk about the differences in places people retire depending on what political party they belong to.
Americans have been sorting themselves into these like-minded groups for three decades. Bill Bishop, coauthor found that 48 percent of voters lived in communities where the presidential election wasn’t close at all in 2004, up from 39 percent in 1992. “It’s not about single-payer healthcare and Iran. It’s not policy,” says Bishop. “It’s people who have the same kind of way of life, people who think alike.”
There are a lot of places to look at when considering the best places to retire. To each his own, so it’s hard to say what is best.
This election could have a big impact on how Americans are seen abroad as well. I know in the past when we use to travel, people loved you if you were an American. With Bush in the presidency this has all changed. Hopefully soon we will have better leadership, opening up easier times to travel and retire abroad in the best places.
